Post 626 to Host Traveling Wall, Tribute

Traveling Wall
Oakfield-Alabama (Hirum G. Luhman) American Legion Post 626, along with the Town of Pembroke, will be hosting the Vietnam Memorial Traveling Wall and the Cost of Freedom Tribute June 11-15 in the Pembroke Town Park.

The traveling wall is an 80 percent replica of the Vietnam Memorial in Washington, D.C. The accompanying Cost of Freedom Tribute honors all veterans and includes panels paying tribute to those who died in the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2001 and in the on-going war on terror. It also honors police, firefighters and FBI agents who have lost their lives serving their community and country.

Traveling Wall
Post 626, located in Basom, is looking for sponsors to help defray the cost of bringing the wall and tribute to Western New York, and invites veterans groups, first responders and other organizations to participate in ceremonies during the five-day event.
